I also found this way to enable the hidden bootscreen.

I’ve been told that this trick should only be used on newer / faster machines. You’ll need to have administrative privileges to get ‘er working right. Either use the Run command or a CMD prompt to enter:
bcdedit /set quietboot 1
This needs to be appended. In order for this to work you have to start a command prompt as an administrator. That is go to start->all programs->accessories
Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator. Then select Continue on the Windows Security box. Once the command prompt is up and running you can enter the above command.
You might be right about the reason but it probably should have been activated while the system check for performance was being done Thanks for the information!
I've been using Windows Vista for quite some time and one thing that really bothers me is the boot screen. I don't really care THAT much about it but if we're paying big bucks for this then why the heck would you strip the boot screen all the way down to the progressbar? Seems strange to me...
Also, I forgot to mention. Why do people connect what people have as far as game systems to their financial situation? I know a guy who drives a beat up old 1987 Toyota truck that's wife owns a new Mercedes and they have a 2 story home with a basement that's worth about $600,000. People who have the Wii aren't always poor people.. it's just a preference. The Wii may be an "aquired taste", but a lot of people already have a taste for it and will continue to. As for the PS3, it was lauched with bad timing. The world isn't ready for Blu-Ray yet..... Most people don't have a tv that goes over 480P much less 1080P. Blu-Ray is also disgustingly expensive to manufacture. They should have though out their options before ever designing a system. As for the XBOX, besides the overheating and massive power consumption..it's a great deal all around. 1080P just like the PS3, sometimes freezes up on you... (Don't you miss that with the NES? LOL) and has the same game situation as the PS3, with the XBOX having a tad bit more games. This is my 6 cents.
I have the Wii not because we're poor but because we're Nintendo fans. Plus I wasn't going to even look at the PS3 knowing there wasn't anything different about it other than graphics. Woopdie doo
I buy video game consoles to have fun and as a time filler not because I think the graphics are cool or because I want to feel better about myself knowing I have an overpriced piece of hardware hooked up to my TV. PONG used to be TONS of fun when it came out and it was black and white (or black and green...) and with a rotary "joystick" and nobody was complaining about graphics Even SNAKE which was a QBASIC program/game was fun as well and that didn't have much more colors than that. I think Nintendo went the right direction by making the Wii different from the others. They're always trying to do that and they've finally accomplished it to the max.
Just bought us Wii Play so I'm off to see what it's like
Things are only free for a "trial" period when it comes to these big corporations. Don't be surprised if somewhere down the line YouTube becomes a pay service
Why don't companies want to take responsibility for their screw-ups? I mean it just makes sense from the customer service stand-point to just take care of it. Apple has gotten stingy and greedy...
FireFox saves passwords and they're something you can easily access given the right motivation. Well you can also access the passwords in plain text. Someone broke into my Windows Server here and took some passwords out of FireFox and proceeded to buy some server storage ($225 US) and mess up a forum I administer. I know I should have known better and password protected that section of FireFox but with all of the advertising FireFox gets a LOT of people will use this feature of FireFox and not secure the passwords portion and then....bam...they have their accounts compromised.
I used to do Capoeira which is a Brazillian Martial Art. Very acrobatic stuff indeed. BUT I haven't done it, well not full blast anyways, for over 5 years. If I do half of the things I did back then I'd become an invalid
