Only AMD's Native Quad's can get them right back into the performance race. But that said, they are selling there AM2's off the shelves though. And DELL wants more, and AMD can't seem to get enough of them out the door.
For the first time, Nintendo is out of the competition. And that is what they wanted when they designed there Wii gaming & entertainment console. Just let Microsoft's XBOX 360 & Sony's PlayStation 3 battle it out. This leaves Nintendo in a different segment of the industry. They attract gamers & most importantly grown-up's. Nintendo \"WILL\" sell much more Wii systems then Sony's PS3's IMO.
Microsoft was very smart to only sell an HD-DVD player Add-On (Works with your PC under Windows XP) which are currently selling quite well.
The only problem I see with the PS3 is there useless Blu-Ray drive. That drive drove up costs in production & was responsible for the PS3 delays. And once again, is resopnsible for the PS3 recalls happening all over, but Sony already spent a lot of money in a marketing to hide the problems.

I would not hesitate to recommend the AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ or the Intel Core 2 Duo E6400. And acompany either of the above with a solid ATI based chipset. They are amazing IMO.
Also to note, computer companies like HP, DELL, Acer, Compaq, etc. will also most likely push the new Vista OS alost every PC they sell. As long as they get the go ahead & the third party support, it will fly.
One thing to remember is that Windows Vista is a different king of OS, very different then Windows XP. And will be pushed out the door like there is no tomorrow.
O.K. I will take screen shots & post them as soon as I can. This game is really worth the money IMO.
Though I am going to instal the latest patch for the game because when people talk to you in the game, they pause for some reason then continue, something like a hick-up in the sound or something, but this patch or the next should fix it.
And to add, IMO, the usual \"complete\" PC upgrade time frame is about every 3 to 5 years. Upgrading simple things like ram, cpu & HD into your existing case is probably done just only after a year or so.
So, once again, it makes a lot of sense to have a 64-Bit / 32-Bit compatable CPU. Maybe you will want to try out Vista 64-Bit in 2007 & see how it runs, before you purchase it or something, but with 32-bit you will not be able take advantage of that.
