The only thing is it doesn't work correctly with IF.

You should be considering moving the forums anyway - invisionfree is only good for so long, and if you were running those Google ads instead of IPS, you'd be making quite a bit. Money from the advertisements could go to Predator for web hosting and domain renewal fees.

Worst Operating System [MS] in Software
Win2k is basically WinXP minus its extended hardware support, driver database, and flashy colours. Windows XP obviously added some every-day things like a built in FTP client, integrated zip archiver and such. I run Win2k on my laptop, as it uses far less resources and doesn't hog my massive 96mb of RAM :D

My New PC in Hardware, Internet, Networking, Comms and Security
KoolDrew: Where an SLi version of a motherboard is only marginally more expensive, there is no reason not to buy it unless you are definite you will not be buying into SLi in the future.

If you are on a tight budget, and you have to keep within it - I understand where you're coming from. From where I stand, I like to buy products which give value for money even if it goes over budget instead of keeping under my target price and buying something that I don't really want.

The way you replied to my comment about case price doesn't fully click.. You haven't pointed out any benefits of the Lian Li case over a case 50 dollars cheaper, and you have suggested, in effect, that if you have the money, you \"might aswell\".

My New PC in Hardware, Internet, Networking, Comms and Security
Very good choice of processor, KoolDrew. Opterons are amazingly cheap, yet they perform as well as some of the dual core Athlon64s which cost a hell of a lot more.

I question your case choice, though.. I myself do not believe in spending big money on the housing for your computer. If you want to look flashy and have bragging rights - sure, but its not really my thing to spend more on a case than you do on your hard disk.

Very nice RAM selection. With 1500 USD to spend, you can build a very quick system. If its gaming you're into, I reccomend switching the x1800 with the card Josh suggested. This way, you pay slightly more, gain some performance in-game, and open up your options of taking the SLi plunge in the future.

Good luck with your first build - it always is the most fun,

A Tour Inside Newegg in Hardware, Internet, Networking, Comms and Security
Saw this story on digg yesterday. I love the way the products are organised in tiers - the most commonly bought ones on tier 1, going to the less active stock in tier 3. I entered the competition with everyone I know's email addresses :D.

ok my friend baught a psp but he couldnt figure out how to put songs onto it. so he let me barrow it for the night so i could put some songs on it for him. i put the songs on that night and played with it on the bus to school the next day and when i got to school i stuck it in my backpack and put the backpack in my locker(which had a lock, but that doesnt matter cus even if a locker has a lock on it you can still just pull up on the handle and it opens with the lock still on.) so i come back from PE and the front of my backpack is open and the psp is gone. i ended up only paying for half of it cus it wasnt totally my fault that it got stolen. seeing as how i had a lock and everything but it all worked out in the end, he has a new psp but hes down a copey of dynasty warriors.

I take my hat off to you.

Help Immediately, Please! in Hardware, Internet, Networking, Comms and Security
Jumper settings do not apply to SATA drives. Just connect a FDD to your system temporarily, and remove it upon completion.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus: Free Online Virus Scanner in Hardware, Internet, Networking, Comms and Security
rofl at the post above me. I never would have thought.

These \"once-off\" virus scanners aren't what I like.. I prefer \"active-protection\" type products, which continuously scan for updates in certain areas of your hard disk, notify you of changes to the registry, and let you know about attacks.

Defiler pack? in Entertainment, Film and Music, Mobile devices and media
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The two codec providers were probably conflicting - fighting over which program should serve the codec. Ffdshow provides for almost all of your codec needs, so just stick with that.

X1900XT & XTX kicks back Hard in Entertainment, Film and Music, Mobile devices and media
Looks pretty cool. I think i'll still be going nVidia with my next card though, because i intend to use SLi features, and even ATi's mid-range cards are expensive..

My new PC in Hardware, Internet, Networking, Comms and Security
Because he feels like it? That would seem apparent. Whats with the \"DUH!\" s**t anyway? No one is \"on his a.ss\". All we asked is his reasons for not building a system above the specification of his current setup, fool.

Btw: Call your mom if you need help wiping your a.ss, instead of getting all irritated and posting complete crap on here.

Norton's Flaw in Hardware, Internet, Networking, Comms and Security
I find it more convenient to get my laptop infested with viruses and to perform a reformat every now and again instead of running Norton AntiVirus. What a resource hogging pile of crap.
