I know; it's completely illogical. But that's what they're doing, so we should employ our best judgement and just let the issue drop.

Let me throw in a small observation, though: If LF is so popular, then look at the member count: it's about 1 Mil 35 K. The millionth signed up June 2006.

Just take that how you like.

$gen_simple_header in iVirtua News, Views, Suggestions, and Help Centre
Yeah, the main reason why Mac GUI City is going to be so PHENOMENAL is that I've been working on it since February of 2007 without letting Spymac influence me.I've moved on, and it's like I'm a new man-- and a new web site. I've got new inspirations, new role models, whole new ways of looking at things. And it's like breathing a breath of clean, fresh air. It'samazing what you can do when you don't have a single rigid idea holding you in place, (ie: Spymac) preventing you from growing and evolving.

More to follow in my blog too, stay tuned!
btw, if I've got any of your alternate accounts or IP addresses or emails banned at Mac GUI, let me know and I'll un-ban 'em for you.

I decided that I would go to the spymaccommunity and ask for their input into the article. I hoped that theywould provide some feedback but yet again they post nasty commentsabout iVirtua including comments like this.

That's like writing a nasty article about George W. Bush, the US President, and showing it to him in person and asking him how he likes it.

Duh!

I've told you guys a few times before: forget about Spymac. Don't waste your time thinking about them. They don't matter. Because just as you can say nasty things about them, they can do it right back, and you get no where.

$gen_simple_header in iVirtua News, Views, Suggestions, and Help Centre
Oh, sure, that sounds fine if you want me to beta, then you know where to reach me.

I'm working on getting the next version of Mac GUI out before the end of this year, so hopefully I'll have it ready to go by September or October.

I want to wish you guys a sincere good luck on developing this site, and hope that you guys try not to brag too much or boast. Maybe you'll fool most people, but not all. On a lighter note, once you get started, you get hooked on programming (at least I have) and you just get better and better at it through the months and years.

This site could be something pretty amazing, if you guys take the time to build some of your own cool features and add-ons. Once this site both a) doesn't look a lot like other sites and b) doesn't work a lot like others sites then you'll know you've done a good job.

Seems to me you are at the start of this journey of escaping the mundane of other sites out there.

Keep following this path; you haven't reached your destination quite yet!

well, whatever works best for you.

I'm back-porting code as fast as I can from phpBB 3 and you guys should be too because it's the superior system.

$gen_simple_header in iVirtua News, Views, Suggestions, and Help Centre
why? I knew about $gen_simple_header back in Mac GUI 4. You can look at my code for Engine 4.0, it's still available for download if you don't have it already. You may note how I've got the $gen_simple_header set TRUE for the message_die() function amd usercp_register.php

All you do is set it to true before you do the include() and you get the simple_header.tpl and simple_footer.tpl

If you're not getting the headers/footers, you're messing up some things, like closing the database and GZIP compress. And if you've made new files, well that's just two more files to deal with.

I seriously suggest you consider reverting back and using my method -- or, you may ask about $gen_simple_header and the header/footer files in general a tphpBB.com and get a good answer/explanation there.

You've got a kludge so far, that's all I can say.

Actually, if I may go a bit further... you should really convert them to a function or, even better, a class and get rid of the files all together. Much more efficient.

Is recycling worth the effort? in The Great Debates!
in the US, at least, paper recycling costs more money than just planting new trees.
