At Sony's recent London Playstation Day,Sony confirmed that one of its first-party shooters will hang in thewings until February 2009. But it's got nothing to do with the qualityof the FPS, it's more down to the fact that there were too manyshooters that had '2' in the title scheduled for autumn.
London Playstation Day
SCEA'sRon Eagle, said, "Just wanted to add a quick reply on the 'delay' ofKillzone 2 to Feb 2009. To be clear, there is nothing wrong or causinga delay to the development of the title. We (SECA) had to look at thefall calendar with SOCOM, LittleBigPlanet, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift,Resistance 2, plus some PSN titles and make a decision where each gameshould come out.
Quote:
"Killzone 2 was moved to Feb 2009 to make sure we didn't have threeshooters in the marketplace competing for retail dollars during thesame holiday season. The game will be great and it will be out in Feb2009 in both Europe and North America."
Eagle finished up hispost with, "A lot of times we gamers read delay and think something iswrong, in this case, it was a pure management decision."
There you go 'the internet'. Don't jump to your own conclusions...
