Sony’slatest Vaio laptop model, just announced for the Japanese market, breaks withthe traditional form factor for portable computers and features a tiny ‘half-sized’keyboard.
The SonyVAIO VGC-LJ25L laptop features a standard 15.4-inch wide LCD screen along witha strange-looking keyboard that the company claims will allow you to "usethe laptop efficiently even in narrow spaces.”
It makessense, we figure, for Japanese city-dwellers who live in notoriously tinyapartments. Somewhat tellingly, Sony has not yet announced any plans to releasethe computer outside of its homeland.
Questionsare also being raised as to the effectiveness of the screen-guarding value ofsuch a small keyboard and the usefulness of such a laptop design for actuallyusing on your LAP.
Sony’s newVaio is set to retail for around $1,500.
