Monday is the day where we find out what Virtual Console games we'll be playing, what Xbox Live Arcadegames are going to be released, and also what Rock Band songs we canexpect. In other words, it's a day of discovery, bullet lists, andrather short posts. What does Rock Band have for us this week?
A few observations follow. These are all great bands. These are not thesongs I would wish for from these bands. I have a soft spot for"Complete Control," but the the other two tracks fail to impress. Asalways the songs are 160 Microsoft Points, or $1.99, and will beavailable this coming Thursday on the PlayStation 3 as well.
Since music is a very subjective thing, I will now open the floorfor comments. I will begin by pleading with Harmonix and EA to includethe entire album of London Calling in the near future. I will pay a significant amount of money for the songs if this happens.
This week's Rock Band update came in a little late—abyproduct of the time change, no doubt—but the new songs have nowarrived and they are cheaper than the norm. The songs this week are allpriced at 80 Microsoft Points ($0.99) and will, as always, hit thePlayStation Network later this week. The update includes the following tracks:
I was unfamiliar with names until I started checking the YouTube videosand remembered that Paramore has that cute girl in it (sorry Dr. Cameron and Kate). The song sounds fun to play, as well, for those who like pop-punkstuff. For the rockers, Black Tide and Serj Tankian should satisfy;both are surprising choices given the swearing in each song. We'll haveto see how Harmonix handles that.
