No stranger to flirting with fashion to cross-promote its franchises, Sony's latest bid for boutique-chic is blooming in Paris, where it has partnered with French designers Emilie Casiez and Shobo Shobo -- chosen for their already suitably playful aesthetic -- to create a pair of sweatshirts re-imagining the universe of Loco Roco. It's all part of the recently launched Artcade, a place for designers to lend their creative talents to the world of Playstation, with a virtual gallery that for now is filled with not only the works of Shobo Shobo and Casiez, but also of painter Miltos Manetas and a host of other Loco Roco related songs and art.
LocoRoco plunges you into a colourful world where jelly-like creatures (LocoRoco) sing, roll and bounce their way through levels to reach their goals. Guide your LocoRoco through the various worlds using a simple tilting and bouncing gameplay mechanic -– using the PSP system's Left and Right shoulder buttons to tilt the ground up to about 30 degrees in either direction. The jelly-like LocoRoco don't stay still -- guide these little characters as they bounce, roll and jump their way to the goal, avoiding splinters and enemies.
The creator enjoys those text games
Quote:
Tsutomu Kouno, LocoRoco Game Director: When I was at elementary school, my parents bought me a computer. I created some games using BASIC programming language and had my friends play them. At that time, I was really into text adventure games.
