Ricoh announced a player that can play both formats. I think it was a dumb idea because the masses are going to choose one or the other. Most seem to opt for HD-DVD since it's not so proprietary.
I think HD-DVD will win because it's cheaper ($1,000 for a Blu-ray player? Ouch! Besides, if people are not willing to spend more than $3.00 on a gallon of gas...), people are familiar with the terms in HD-DVD (as said before), and Sony is not exactly known for its successful formats (UMD, anyone?). And, to be frank, Sony's build quality sucks.

Blu-Ray as it can hold. Also I check at some reviews of both and the Blu-Ray seems tobe much better. Also HD-DVD sounds not cool. Blu-Ray sounds like the future. HD-DVD sounds more like what people will go for but does not look like the future, as it does not hold alot, when that can come in handy when you need more room to fit more.

Ok, first, what I've read is that the quality is only slightly better, along with the capacity. I think that Blu-ray holds 50GB and HD-DVD holds 45GB. Not a huge difference. Second, It's absolutely retarded to sit here and argue about which sounds \"cooler\" and \"more like the future.\"
