-- I dont know.. the first time I played the game I know its Expansion version. but don't know which one. MY cousin installed the sims expansion.blah blah.
I played the original \"Sims\" and I hated it. It was cool at first, then it started to get on my collective nerves because time always seemed to move too fast to get the little guy to do anything. Who do you know that takes 45 minutes to use the bathroom, or to take out one trash bag?
I stopped playing it after 45 minutes of real time and promptly uninstalled it 2 minutes after that.
you can only torture sims for so long then it gets boring. I used to get the different theme stuff to make zombie-like people. But again only so much torture can amuse the mind
I've been playing the Sims 2 quite a bit lately. Its much better than the origional game, though it still has its low points (repeated animations, repeated scenerios, repeated everything basically). However, it has many new features that make it much better. Your Sims now have goals and things that they want to do at the moment. If you do these things, they get points that they can spend on certain \"Asperation Items.\" You also have influence points, which you can spend to try to get other Sims to do certain things, such as clean, be more playful, or pick a fight with the Sim of your choice.
The new aging system is also a good thing, but I personally think that your Sims should not age quite as fast as they do. There are ways to prevent or slow down aging, but most of these are magical (drinking potions ect.), so it takes away from the realism of the game. The Sims 2 is much more realistic than the first one though.
One interesting thing about the new aging system is that since your sims age quickly and you can keep them alive for quite awhile if you play them right, you can easily build up an army of sims from the same familey and they can take over the world! MUHAHAHAHAHA!
The addition of the three expansions also include many new features. The Sims 2 University allows your sims to go to college, live in dorms, greek houses, or on their own on campus. Going to college adds the \"Young Adult\" phase of life to your sims, as well as gives them more career options.
The Sims 2 Nightlife adds the down town area to the game, and well... lets you go downtown! There are some pretty cool places and plenty of new sims to meet, so that can be fun.
The Sims 2 Open For Business basically lets you have your own business, so you can buy commercial property, sell your merchandise and make lots of money.
All in all, the Sims 2 is a much better game than the origional. So if you liked the origional, it is defintly worth checking out.
