Yes, I was born in the US and I currently live there, although I have traveled to Canada and France.

I like it for the simple reason that I'm used to living here. I don't live in a big city, which is also nice too. The town I live in is just a small country farming town, but don't get me wrong-- I'm no farmer!

I don't "hate" USA, and I've been there twice.
But I must admit that the war in Iraq was stupid, very stupid. I hope that it will reflect, and people in USA go thinking about it, and choose someone else than Bush OR make Bush clear that they're against the war. Bush is just throwing away money and people, currently ...

But further, USA has some very beautifull places which everyone should visit at least once

A minor suggestion....  There are many concepts called "the United States."

1.  The Executive, which, currently, has removed itself from the grasp of the people.  Please do not equate the US with the current executive branch.  It has not represented the people in almost seven years, but, because of the electorial process established by their constitution, they can not get rid of the current executive branch until January, 2009.

2.  The Legislative, although more recently becoming responsive to the population, is under the control of those with money, a minute minority, but politically powerful.

3.  The environment, which actually has shown considerable improvement in many areas, but, under the current executive, has again started to decay.

4.  The people, a grouping that can be subdivided into dozens of groups, each grasping at their own ideology with total disreguard for anything except the current buzz-word focus.  The United States is certainly not united.

5.  The ideology, which was originally stated in the Declaration of Independance, the Constitution, and in many other documents.  Today, though, both the government and the people have mentally rewritten these documents, interpreting them to suit their own beliefs.

Thus, do not hate the United States, pity those who live there.

Let me put it this way you can't hate a country just because you disagree with that countries policies - which are incidentally created by that countries government not the people - although countries such as the USA and UK say we are democratic in the end the government still makes up it's own mind on it policies and who ever said that governments weren't corrupt.  But that is an entirely different subject altogether.

I include myself in the millions of people (American citizens included) who are dissatisfied with the current government and the president (George W. Bush Jr).  Personally I cant wait until he steps down from power - why? because I feel his policies are disgraceful especially those of trying to become the worlds police force.

But far from the fact do I hate the United States of America and it's people.  In fact I have many close friends presiding in the United States.

Sa_Rocky I can understand from your view point why you 'hate' the United States of America,  I can see what the United States and other western countries (including my own country (UK)) have done in the middle east.

My personal belief is that we we're right to invade Iraq and take down the dictator Saddam Hussein - however I don't believe that we went about it in the right way and that the US government and my own government lied so they could invade faster.  However both the US, UK and the other countries currently in Iraq have a duty to make that country stable.  We have paid the price of invading that country, combining US, UK and foreign countries troops we have lost thousands of men and women in combat fighting against the insurgents.

Regarding your comments about the US military you may be surprised to learn that the USA has one of the best militaries.  It is ashame though that many view the US's military as stupid arrogant and bullish - this is probably due to their image of hurting  and killing civilians and so called 'friendly-fire' - I am in no means supporting the US's militaries actions in those circumstances but no one really knows what is going through their minds when those things occur.  Another thing to point out is that those men/women are tired low on moral and all they really want to do is go back home.  They are also continuously under attacks by insurgents (or 'terrorist's') who bombard them day and night.
