Yeah I got it free from Technet, but if I was going to buy it, I wouldn't!!!! What's so good about Vista at the moment, just been playing BF2 on it and it is slower. Games are slower, and all you get is a little nicer looking interface. I'd wait till SP1, at least then it'll be a bit cheaper
the two games that i play the most right now are world of warcraft and Counterstrike....so since i don't do much else other than hit up some websites n talk on aim, i was thinking about just getting it...but is the gaming significantly slower?? or is it that the vista OS just wants more memory or speed to run at its peak?
I'm getting home premium for the time being (I'm pretty skint at the moment) but I'll get ultimate a bit further down the line. The only problem is I run about 5 machines and can't afford to spend a grand on vista for each of them so I think they'll be sticking with XP or moving to Debian linux.
MS is offering a "family deal"... Sorry guys, it apears to only be offered in North America now that I read the fine print.
Deal works like this: Buy the full edition of Vista Ultimate, and you are then given the option to purchase up to 2 full versions of Vista Home Premium for $50 each. MS sends you the serials and you use your Ultimate disc to install both of them on the other computers. Ultimate + 2 copies of Home Premium for $500 isn't to bad anyway... Windows Vista Family Discount. If you are in the UK, and you know someone stateside...
I hear that Windows Vista OS is not fuly user friendly yet. I'll wait for the outstanding bugs on it corrected before I buy it. If I buy it I am going to settle for the least expensive version to try it.
Man Vista sucks lol.... I'm not paying 500$ on something that doesn't support that many stuff!
Tip, if you really want to buy vista, get an OEM version, thats like 4x cheaper than the commercial versions.
Anyways, my dad likes vista, but he does other things on his PC than me. I rather wait till 2012 or something when Microsoft stops making updates for XP and then I'll buy it. OR if Microsoft releases a new Windows that's better than XP and Vista.
