i am really considering a new sound system, not anything like CRAZY...but probably 7.1 the thing is, my desk space is weird, like is it worth getting that if it's not going to be surrounding me? if so, anyone know a crazyass 2 speaker system?
i'll put up pics of my desk area later, gonna go ball at the ymca lol
yah, but my comp is in a corner of my room, so i face the corner when i'm sitting there....if i hang them on the wall...it wouldn't be directly behind me
right now, with my 4 speaker altec lansing system, i had to splice all the wires and make them longer so i could put them in each corner of my room (which doesn't give me good \"surround sound\" unless i sat in the center of my room) but now i moved and my room is bigger n my speakers don't reach, so i have them at the corner of my desk area....which isn't THAT bad, just sloppy as h**l and takes up space and looks like crap...lol
i think putting ur sub on ur desk is better...cuz if u have a good system...u can feel the desk shake cuz of the bass...hahahhaa or i guess it's cool if ur floor shakes...but my floor shakes also..
Ok, here's how it works. For true surround sound, you want every speaker equally far away... The Sub should be in a corner (for the most bass) and all speakers should be ear, or a little above ear level. Having them on the ceiling works, but it kind of gets rid of the feeling, because it doesn't always sound like it's surrounding you.
I actually built a stand out of legos just to have one of my rear speakers at the right spot. Let me tell you, 5.1 movies, and 7.1 games sound amazing.
