I would add two Core 2 Duo entries there, Core 2 Duo (Merom) and Core 2 Duo (Conroe/Allendale). And also, just to nitpick, it's the Athlon 64 X2, not the Athlon X2.

Wouldn't that be just like adding San Diego/Venice/etc cores for AMD? I know that it's slightly different, but it's basically the same dif, isn't it (and I'm asking... I know next to nothing about Core 2 Duo cpus).

Yes, thats why I didn't bother to add them. Thanks for understanding.

Gee, you seem to have no conviction separating the Athlon 64's on different sockets. Core 2 Duos based on the Merom core use the mPGA-479 socket, while Core 2 Duos based on Conroe or Allendale are both on LGA775. It isn't the same as several different desktop cores. So you have an entry for the DESKTOP Athlon 64 X2 and the NOTEBOOK Turion 64 X2 both of which are on different sockets, but are still nearly identical in specifications and architecture. Why then, do you refuse to add separate entries for the DESKTOP Core 2 Duo chips (Conroe, Allendale) and the NOTEBOOK Core 2 Duo chip (Merom), both of which differ in specifications while adhering to the same architecture. By all right, the Turion 64 X2 and the Athlon 64 X2 are less different chips than are the mobile Core 2 Duo and the desktop Core 2 Duo.
Are you going by processor brand name? If so, why there an entry for \"Intel Centrino\" up there? There's no such thing as an \"Intel Centrino\" processor, it's a brand-name platform that Intel devised for notebooks with low-power Intel mobile processors, a wireless chip, and a low-power chipset.
Merom is to Conroe as Taylor is to Newcastle. Venice, San Diego, Winchester, are all desktop cores, hence the reasoning behind my suggestion. Thanks for understanding... and locking the thread for a few days before I could provide some background reasoning to my suggestion.
