Cant make it to the event? going to be keeping an eye out on sites such as http://live.iVirtua.co.uk to find out what Steve's anouncing in real time?
Why not have some fun at the sametime and play WWDC Bingo!
Basically you get a pdf with different rumors on it, like steve will launch a new iPod ect, the point of the game like any other variation of bingo is to get the most 'numbers' or in this case rumors correct.
A great back story to this is on Ars Technica, which can be found here:
http://arstechnica.com/staff/fatbits.ars/2007/1/7/6514
This article explains the rumors:
http://arstechnica.com/staff/fatbits.ars/2007/06/08/wwdc-2007-keynote-bingo
and you can download the bingo card as a pdf from here:
http://cs-people.bu.edu/macintsh/ars/wwdc-2007-bingo.pdf
If you have a mac and cant be doing with pieces of paper then why not try out the WWDC Application for Mac OS X (sorry windows guys but why would you be watching wwdc anyway?)
The application can be download here:
http://iskub.sippan.se/bingo/
Whats better about this application is that it creates around 100 variations so that if you play along with your friends you'll all have a different bingo card.
Quoted from the site:
Quote:
twice a year, Steve Jobs takes the stage extending his reality distortion field over the masses. It is a wildly celebrated holiday for Mac fanatics all over the world. And since 2006, thousands of people follow the keynote with our Keynote Bingo application in hand - and WWDC 2007 is no different! The Swedish Bingo team, comprised mainly of trolls, polar bears and snowpeople, has once again produced a new, jaw-dropping version of Keynote Bingo: WWDC Bingo 07!
If you'd like to know more about the history of these Apple Keynotes
or as people in the Apple community call them, Stevenotes, then wikipedia has a great article on these famous keynotes:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stevenote
And on a completely random side note, if your bored waiting around for
the keynote to begin why not check out Steve Job's car which someone looked up on Google Streetview, the link is here:
http://maps.google.com/maps?&cd=3&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=45.822921,101.865234&t=h&om=1&layer=c&cbll=37.435142,-122.140461&cbp=1,122.854137359325,0.678250737270045,3&ll=37.435559,-122.140401&spn=0.001363,0.003109&z=19
And yes that car is a Mercedes SL AMG. Obviously he's doing well for himself.
