So, I got my X1800XT by Sapphire from newegg last thursday.
OEM version. The bag it came in was far too small for all the stuff they crammed in it. I didn't take a picture. Sorry.
Anyway, it was fine because it was packaged in packing peanuts in a box like newegg always does. Came with:
Video card (in anti-static bag)
Driver CD
Sapphire sticker
VIVO cable (input and output, composite/s-video)
Component adapter (Green, blue, red)
S-video cable
Composite cable
I have yet to test the VIVO, but I will eventually.
There are only 2 games so far that I can not run at 60FPS, highest settings, 6xaa, 16x ansio, 1680x1050: FarCry (with HDR... without it is 60FPS+) Hidden: Source (HL2 mod... very sweet)
I cannot comment properly on BF2 yet, as I only have 512MB RAM, and that just doesn't work. I tried. Takes about 10 minutes to load a map and walk 20 feet... with medium geometry, textures, and something I can't remember... lol.
So far, I am exstatic about it, but continue to hate ATI's drivers. Every time I boot it 'examines' my card to 'set the proper settings'. So worthless.
Anti-aliasing doesn't always work on the first try, however once it does, it's astounding.
Venting the hot air out the back is the way to go. No more heating my entire case!
I've got a FarCry video taken with fraps, then later re-encoded: http://pub.gandm.be
The shorter ones show the quality better.
I should get some more screen shots by the weekend, however, don't hold me to it, as we are moving to a new house starting tuesday!
