In my opinion if you wish to get a really good VOIP client and want to ring people on a landline, etc, then I would suggest you download Skype (for free) and add a few optional extras which cost a lot less than Yahoo! Voice. You could also purchase Skype Pro, which gives you a hell of a lot more for around £8 for 5 months.
Again this is just Yahoo!'s feebal atempt to compete against the big boys (google, msn and Skype in this case). Not worth the money and itsnt even cross-platform.
Skype has a better community base, better compatibility, bigger user base, is more stable, alongside support for podcasting tools and the many skype extras available, from lie detecters to call recorders, whiteboard and conferencing tools, and the amount of skype hardware out there is awesome!
Not forgetting Worlwide cheap calls and fre calls to "toll-free" international numbers
