there are no plans to get rid of the classic section of spymac. The news, forums and blogs will continue to be there. If you are concerned about the community of spymac I invite you to participate as the content (if not the look) of the site is community driven.
also, I don't think spymac has been much of a rumor site for the two years that I've been there. Maybe it once was but IMHO that was long ago. Apple itself is much tighter with rumors than they were two years ago. Besides I'd rather read real news instead of rumors any day.
There are several inaccuracies in this thread that I'd like to correct.
First GadgetDon is a member of the community and has developed software for it, he is not in a position to provide an "Official Response" and to claim that he is , is completely disingenuous.
illegally providing access to a private release weakens the credibility of your commentary.
William, you didn't look very hard for positive comments about Leapfrog as I have seen plenty. Has there been criticism, sure? New things always engender criticsm. But there has also been a lot of support within the community for the changes. Sorry but I don't have the time this morning to pull the postive quotes and post them here.
if you are going to quote me, or anyone else for that matter, please don't take it out of context. here's more of what I said...
"With all of this in the air I suggest we all take a step back and take a deep breath and consider where we want to focus our energy. Do we want to spend it complaining? To what purpose? Constructive criticsm certainly. But simply saying 'it sucks' or I hate it gets us nowhere.
Instead let's focus on what has always made this place unique - each other."
and lastly, the purpose of journalism is to clearly, and accurately report the facts to the best of your ability.
