Were not playing C & C generals here... this is a political debate, and is communism just going to collapse? There has been much discussion on the China internet censorship here (use search) but who would genuinely win in the future.... In terms if economic superpower not just military wise!
(this is a really long post.... i should get getting like 10 posts for this)
i am going to say china.
In this world, there are two superpowers.
1. America
2. China
Right now, America is the dominate superpower beacuse of its great economy and technology and ect.
However in maybe half a century from now or even less, china will be the only superpower in the world.
China has the people, the land, and the resources to become the greatest nation of the world. In northern China there is many oil reserves, in the west of china there are much land that could be used to futher agriculture or technological studys. China has already declared that whatever the the west does, they will take it to the next level. The Chinese have already created the three gorges dam and other marvels that not only rivals but also exced ones that have been created before.
Now China is an Economic powerhouse. Nothing can stop it's economic growth. Even if the whole world calls for economic sanctions on china, china would be able to self substain it self because of shear population.
Picture a pebble rolling down a steep hill. It will continue to roll untill there is no more force pushing it. That pebble is the economy of America. The US economy has already expanded and grown much over the past few 100 years. Now Imagin a Boulder. This boulder is still on the tip top of the hill, however it is on the very edge of it. With the slightest push the boulder would come crashing down, annhilating everything in its path. Nothing can stop the economic growth of china if this happens. What you see in the news now about china's rapid economic growth is only the beginning, it has not even started to go down the hill. Many arcticles have already predicted how china's economy will overtake america and succeded it by far. Once this happens, the usa will never be able to become an economic powerhouse as it is now.

Military. As u can probably guess, China has the greatest and larges army in the world. Nothing can even compare. Well u people may say india may rival, however indias economy is so poor that it will never be able to even become a superpower. Anyway chinas army is the best, period. The navy rivals Americas and the the British. Now , china also has the largest air force in the world. It is already a known fact that China's military is one of the best in the world.
Technology in china is below the standards of America. However China's knowledge of technology increases every day, slowly catching up. China is now the leading superpower on nano technologoy (http://www.huliq.com/6095/nanotechnology-in-china-ambitions-and-realities)
it is ever increasing, another example is that china is now the 2nd leading marketing for vehicles (http://www.bloggernews.net/13812)
Now the system of goverment. There is really no such thing as the perfect goverment, today in the united states the goverment is doing an ok job. i really cant say anything about it because most of the stuff is arleady taught in school and everything else. however communism is not a bad thing. remeber that. however, communism is harsh.
In reality, Communism is the only thing holding china back from becoming the greatest and best nation in the world. If chinas goverment was not as oppresant, china would have already be rolling down the hill... :/ anyway
those are my thoughts :O. i hope u guys enjoyed reading it =P
China would win. Their army is over 100 million in size. The USA's entire population is 300 million.
Communism will fail. The internet censorship is a measure that China is taking to maintain control.
China has undermined the very foundation of Communism by allowing individuals to earn money. Salaries are also different. In a Communist country, all should be paid the same amount, and all should be working for the state.
As Dynasty has said, Communism is holding China back. Since China opened its doors, the "Communist mindset" has lessened - proof that the alleviation and removal of Communism can only benefit China further.
I know many people who go to china, and i know a guy from school who now lives there, and they say the growth is amazing. Places like Shanghai etc. are booming - Ferrari has showrooms there for all the people making mega money.
If history has told us anything its size aint the most important thing.
The thing about the Chinese they are harder than a cockney nail, they invented war, invented military strategy. Rather die than lose. Thats what's important.

I agree to a certain extent. Size of nation was very important in WWII - if the USSR did not have such a large population, the Allies would have lost the war. The USSR suffered the most, but due to its massive army, claimed victory in Berlin for the Allies.
Couple the massive army with modern technology (China's main battle tank, the Type 98, for example, is modelled off the Soviet T-72 and the German Leopard 2 tanks - both excellent vehicles), and youve got a force to be reckoned with. Don't forget also that China is a 'space nation', giving it an added edge on intelligence gathering and space weaponry.
The point that should be put forward here is that China isnt going to be dangerous to the West. The Western nation that is most similar to China in most respects is the USA. China sometimes has disputes with the West - but only on a political level (due to the different political ideologies in each nation).
'Chinese' nations (meaning that their populations are mostly of Chinese descent - although probably not Chinese citizens) - like Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore have extremely good relations with the West - proving that there is no cultural friction between Western and Oriental nations. Singapore provides American and British warships with a base in SE Asia (American ships seem to stop there monthly - ive seen loads of US sailors there on leave), and Hong Kong was very closely linked (and still is, although only on an economic level) with the UK.
Alot of the 'hype' over China vs. USA is simply the media, blowing things out of proportion. China and the USA are two very unlikely enemies - if they went to war, they would both lose - because losses on both sides would be enormous. They have everything to gain by being allies.
