Got my core way up to 500mhz from 390mhz stock but my ram wont budge from 750mhz without artifacts.

It all has to do with the GPU architecture.
My 9700 Pro outperforms the 9600 XT by far & costs cheaper. But the 9700 Pro has 176MHz slower GPU.
If anybody is looking for a 9700 Pro which costs cheaper than a 9600 XT then look in e-Bay.

ATI Radeon 9700 Pro

128MB DDR Memory Configuration
8 parallel rendering pipelines
4 parallel geometry engines
256-bit Quad Channel DDR memory interface
324/310.5(621)(DDR)
Peak memory bandwidth 19.80GB/s

ATI Radeon 9600 XT

256MB DDR Memory Configuration
4 parallel rendering pipelines
2 parallel geometry engines
128-bit DDR memory interface
500/300(600)(DDR)
Peak memory bandwidth 9.60GB/s
