First of all... What happened about discussion about the Wii? It's still in the race, after all, and it's by Nintendo, so you should fear it =P.
Anyway.... I believe it will. The 360 may have released first, but it doesn't have that many games right now, and not many are very popular... MS's main focus is probably their precious Halo 3, and Gears of War. Other than that... Xbox and Xbox 360 do not have very good games.
Sony, IMO, has a wider variety of games, and they're very good. The FF series, God of War (with upcoming God of War 2 for the PS2), SOCOM series, and Metal Gear Solid games.
Also, just a sidenote, Microsoft shouldn't have just 'disowned' Xbox like that... They could have kept making games for it, but noooo, they're abandoning it. Sony, on the otherhand, will keep making PS2 games for at least 5 more years, and have just not to long ago stopped production on PS1 games.
Why is this question so important?.The question cant be answered at this stage as the Ps3 has not been released, the Ps3 will beat the Xbox 360 on CPU Specs, and Games, but that means jack sh**
I think People are losing the plot its all about enjoying your console within a solid gaming commmunity and both consoles will have that.
This is a strange question to ask really; I think the Wii will go the same way as the other Ninteno Consoles, with all the hype, and popularity in the East.
Were already having this debate in other topics so please go here: http://forum.ivirtuaforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=32
As I said, its about what you want from a Games Console, not Specs, some people will recognise the Wii as what they want froma Gaming Experience, and others the PS3 and Xbox 360. Yes, it is about a solid gaming commmunity, I don't like these unjustified coments like "The PS3 will beat the 360."
You could Look at it from a Different Perspective, so I have renamed the Topic, from Do you think XBOX 360 is gonna get beat by PS3? to Do you think the Xbox 360 will be beaten in sales by the PS3?
the Ps3 will beat the Xbox 360 on CPU Specs, and Games, but that means jack sh**
So it means jack sh** about when the system will beat it in games? =\. That pretty much says you think the PS3 will be better because of better graphics (better CPU specs as you said) and better games (as you said above).

Hype? I think you're the one wiht favortism man, when you say that to me =\. How can you think Nintendo's consoles will do that? If it wasn't for the NES coming to North America, and other parts of the world, your precious Xbox probably wouldn't be around today. And, befor eyou say I'm putting my foot in my mouth, I realize the PS wouldn't be around either. But that just proves how much you owe to Nintendo =P.
You are really starting to annoy me,if you read my posts you'll see that all consoles have their selling points, pro and cons.I happen to be a fan of the 360 and always will be,and also think it will be the best console in "MY OPINION"
That does not mean to say that I dont respect other gaming consoles ,and cant see that other consoles may have slightly better specs or will have a larger selection of games, after all I am a gamer.
If you persist in your attitude, you'll be getting a warning, last chance.
Ok mate, this is what you call a flame war, your not respecting others views. I didn't say I didnt "like" the Nintendo Consoles, I said Nintendo build up their consoles to be something they maybe are not; and their consoles do very well in the East. The Xbox hardly takes off in the East, I was just comparing how their marketing strategies differ, and the difference in culture, maybe that's too advanced for you?
I'm in effect mirroring what 800fsbgang just said, and also, that I think you simply chose the console because of what you want from it, not because you think you belong to some sort of tribe who worships one brand, or because one is slightly more powerful than the other. Its the style of gaming, communities and type of person tht goes with it, Im all for the Xbox 360, but I dont dislike or have any negative opinions about the Wii or the PS3. Just like the fact that I am a Mac user, and believe that the Mac is the best tool for what I want to do, but I still have a Windows PC, and for some things, like Gaming, they are the right tool.
And please dont personally attack people's views here; Its against the rules as two other staff members have already stated, I'm watching you carefully.
It seems Sony is pretty confident that the PlayStation 3 will sell well, regardless of the quality or number of games that will be available for the system.
According to Sony's David Reeds, the "first five million are going to buy it, whatever it is, even it didn't have games."
I agree that there are plenty of people out there who will purchase the system simply because it's the latest tech gadget to hit the market. However, I can't see some 5 million gamers splashing down on the heavy price tag that doesn't offer a solid lineup of titles. And from the discussions that many gamers have been having following E3 06, not too many people are impressed with what Sony is currently planning for the PS3.
Another issue is that the PS3, despite its high price tag, will still be the cheapest Blu-Ray player on the market by a long shot when it launches. That may be what Sony is talking about here. This will likely sell it to people who simply want a cheap Blu-Ray player. I am not sure about the 5 million number, but it could sell quite a few units. However, that will not happen overnight, and if HD-DVD succeeds and Blu-Ray doesn't (or if they sabatoge each other and neither succeeds, which I think is at least a possibility) Sony is up the creek. They are betting everything on Blu-Ray, which may either be a huge boon (and could very well sell 5 million before the price of other Blu-Ray players goes down) or it could be a huge liability depending on how things play out.
