It depends.  IMO it is not worth it.  It does not offer a significant performance increase over cheaper cards to justify the elevated cost.  Your games will look no different if you were using a $250 X800XL.

Yes and No.  It is better than the 6800ultra, but not by alot.  If you've got the extra money, wait till the 11th and see about the new 7800s that NVidia's coming out with

The new 7800's (I'm assuming) will be the 7800 & 7800GT. The GTX -> Ultra.

The GTX is better than Ultra?  That's interesting.  I wonder if Ultra will be one of the new ones that they come out with.

No. The GTX is like the Ultra. Instead of the name Ultra, it is called GTX.

Oh, I see.  I just read your previous post wrong.
Well, I like the new name.  Not as long as 'ultra'.

If your upgradeing from a lessor card then yes go for 7800 GTX or there new g75 and G80 cards coming out soon. But your looking for an upgrade from 6800 GT , 6800 ultra or 6800 ultra extreme then no its not worth it yet. The G80 will be a monstor 32 pipes 580 core 1.3 memory ddr 3.  With a starting price of $680.00. 7800 GTX is droping to $480.00 to $520.00 range so im told here.

7800GT is looking like a real nice alternative to 7800GTX, save lots of cash for just a small decrease in performance.

Now that the 7800GT has come out I think that is a good choice if you play at higher resolutions.
