I'm really suprised at the low prices of the 7900s. It must be because they got it out later then the X1900, and are trying to get them to sell well, which i think they will at that price.
Actually, the reason was that NVIDIA used much less transistors in G71 to reduce production and manufacturing costs. That is why G71 is much cheaper than G70 & NV45 relatively.

You can say that, but they make tons on each card that's sold. I know this is a little different, but about a year ago, I heard something about all of Intel's procs only costing them like maybe $50, I think. That's from the low-end to the high-end ($1000 procs).

Yes, I understand that, but the primary reason why G71 is cheaper is because of the reason I listed above.

Lol they must be swimming in their on wealth! Lol no wonder, I herd the core duo and core solo are gona be really cheap for that reason, but only time will tell.

Says who? I'm not saying you're wrong, just that you're the first one I've heard say that.

NVIDIA has worked hard to try and produce a more powerful, albeit power-efficient GPU in the 7900 GTX and GT, and they’ve succeeded. They run cooler, are smaller, have less transistors, and they don’t make you stuff cotton in your ears.
I'll try and find the exact article for you.

The 7800GT OC'd is supposed to be a little faster than the X1800 XT 512MB
A link supporting that would be nice... and I remind you that an Athlon 64 3000+ overclocked to 2.0 GHz isn't \"faster\" than an Athlon 64 3000+ at stock 1.8 GHz. Overclocked parts versus stock parts is a terrible way to conduct a benchmark, unless you're talking about a stock part creaming a competing, overclocked one.
