Woefully underdeveloped, but simply because it'll never be able to compete with the version now storming around our newly-inspired minds, Clover's latest addition to their Okami website is worth hunting for.
Currently the bottom-most icon on the site's home page (look for the pixel-icon), "Retro Series" is an overhead Dragon Quest-like recreation of Okami's world filtered down into static 8-bit. Unfortunately, there are no quests to unravel or turn-based brush-stroke fights, but clicking on and talking to various characters nets you a special prize: an icon file and mp3 of a special "Retro Version Soundtrack," comprised of chiptune versions of Okami themes composed by Masami Ueda. Our dreams of an Amaterasu sidescroller will have to wait then, but it's a worthy second best.
