source? no way....although source is what HL focuses on...and it's what they update cuz it's based off of HL2, 1.6 has better play and more people play on it...a downside to 1.6 is that HL duzn't bother updating it anymore, and that's why so many hackers r present, really sucks when like 5 of them come into a server...but the key is to find a good server w/good admins to ban hackers....but it gets annoying nonetheless....

and 1.6 = Counterstrike version 1.6 (run off of steam)
and wow = World of Warcraft (made by blizzard...it's like Diablo 2 except much better....more like asheron's call or everquest if you've ever heard/played those before)

Oh, I must be out of this world.

I cleared WarCraft 3 + expansion, & Diablo 1 & 2.

Diablo 2 was a great game, but I think blizzard should release a 64-Bit version called Diablo 64 Part 3 or something. Heck why not release WarCraft 3 64-Bit?

What are the main differences between Counter Strike Source and 1.6? They do run on a different engine, am I correct?

Yes, Source runs on a much better engine, it can deal with ragdoll models and has highly improved physics and models and such, although I'm sure patches have yet to come.

As for people saying 1.6 is better than source, then I personally think you are wrong. And so do most pro gamers that switched/are switching to source.
If you have the right hardware, source is much better than cs1.6, and you can use enviroments with tactics in source much better than you can in 1.6.. and so the only real benefit of 1.6 these days is if you don't have good hardware.

I myself play both (although I stopped playing cs1.6 a few months ago now...
And I'm now in a pretty good clan; always wondered about going into pro gaming ;)

So if anyone wants to come play me, add me to xfire/msn/aim/icq/whatever and contact me with a few server IP's or something and we'll arrange something ;)

oo... and over the last few days I've been playing battlefield 2.. as it's dang awesome..

Oh, and I have quite a wide range of screens taken in games like cs and bf2, although the directorys need updating.. but check them out anyways.
