Hi
I'm thinking of changing ISP, and need to know what are the best/worst ISPs for games. Obviously I'm looking at factors like pings to European servers, loss and general quality of connection (is it stable ?).
If peopple can post up ISPs they've been with and give them a rating (x/10) for games, I'm sure others would find it useful too.

I'm currently with Be unlimited, and it all started pretty well with 18mb d/l, 1.3 upload and good pings to games servers. Different story now, with pings that used to be 30 now settling at 150 and above, as well as quite a
bit of packet loss. They were great, but it seems they don't have any plans to fix these issues in the short term, so my advice is to stay away.
Be unlimited : 5/10
Pipex: 7/10

Why is you post a quote? or is that someone else?

Anyway stay away from Virgin. I'm with them and for most of the day my ping is 200+ if I'm lucky I will get a half an hour break and its like 30 t0 40. Its supposed to be bloody 8MBit.

Any ideas on what a good ISP would be?

I'm with Orange mobile and broadband at the minute and they seem to be fine. You get a good wireless server and up to 8mb speeds in many areas of the UK. You can choose different packages as well for which suit you best. We also liked it because you a get a mobile on contract and full unlimited broadband with livebox for £30 a month. It is good as we were paying way more for the two payments seperatly.
