Agreed. There's times that they do some really good stuff, like not going with one of the new types of disks (I forget which one) because it would put too many restrictions for users. And then they do something like this. O_o
google hired some poeple to exploit windows like that so every one will freak out and be like \"OMG WINDOWS IS HACKED BY TE HAX0R$\" and give google all the more reason to provide thier alternative. unless it was apple also.
I don't find that particularly irritating. Does anyone ever routinely read ZDNet? If you do, you'll understand exactly what I mean when I say that according to ZDNet, Windows is chock full of security holes, exploits, this, that, and the other thing. I must have read 20 or 30 articles entitled \"Hackers exploit Windows flaw\" or something along those lines in the past six months. What's worse is that that 20 or 30 figure wasn't an exaggeration.
I haven't been, nor have I known anyone who has been affected by any of these apparent \"Critical Windows Flaws.\" I know I never will be, because each of these issues, when presented to Microsoft, is patched as part of that month's security updates. So I don't have to worry about the old ones coming back to haunt me.
Frankly, Microsoft is downplaying the issue that the media has created, not the issue that is actually at hand which is merely a \"Windows Meta-File vulnerability.\" People should be aware, yes, but the tech news enclave treats a Windows vulnerability like CNN treats a gunfight in Iraq. You never hear what Microsoft does right, nor do you hear anyone trying to blame the only reason that this issue is an issue in the first place -- hackers.
So. I'll gladly enjoy my non-updated, firewalled laptop for months to come, without having any of these apparent \"Critical Windows Flaws\" becoming a problem.
yea i have some MS programs too and i also fully enjoi it with the Microsoft security updates and every time 1 pops up i instantly download it so my comp doesnt get HAXD.
BTW: does and one know leet?
