General Sir Richard Dannatt, the head of the British Army, has let us know that the "PlayStation Generation" is "more than a match" for the rigors experienced by soldiers every day in places like Afghanistan and Iraq.
Naturally, there were some within the British military community that had voiced concerns about the prospect of making soldiers out of a bunch of gamers. Fortunately, General Dannatt is here to let us know that "their courage and bravery have been exemplary."
This sort of "Gee-whiz, gamers can do things regular people can" news always makes me angry. I guess it must be hard for non-gamers on the outside looking in to see or understand who we are or what we're capable of, as if a hobby counts as a disability and has to be vouched for.
"Those golfers might make soldiers as well!" You can imagine the love that comment would get.
