I have A+ I took a Network+ class (which 1/2 way through just turned into a 'screw around and talk w/ the teacher because he doesnt care any more' class.
I hope that they will be worthwhile, but I certainly didn't learn a whole lot studying for them... well I did, but not useful every-day stuff.
Its funny. I have this monstrosity of a book from Mike Meyers (and it really is a good book) but most of the information is a moot point for me. I never bothered with printers, so that part is a big help, but as for the others...more of a refresher book.
I do like the Historical/Conceptual parts though, reminds me of the old Tandy 1000 8088 days in Junior High. I think I'll try and take A+ and Network+ back to back, or at least as close as possible to each other. No sense in beating around the bush.

I have the same book, and have the same opinion. The historical stuff is pretty interesting.
And yes, I will be taking the A+ tests soon. (Possibly this next school year).
The only problem I find with the book itself is it's publish date.
Mine is 2003, which is starting to get old. Still good, but newer technologies are big now. He mentions PCI-X and PCI-E in it, but he hints that he thinks PCI-X will be the next big thing over PCI-E. Its been 3 years now and PCI-X still has yet to explode, whereas PCI-E has captured the Video Card market.
I don't think PCI-E was meant to replace PCI-X, even though its a faster bus (8GB/s Versus 4.26GB/s).
Anyway, still a great book. Will have the Network+ book on order shortly. I'm going to try and schedule my tests before the new year.
