With the newest release of "WinRaR" the zip programn that rivals Windows own Zip. Wizard.

The newest release of WinRaR that has been fully licensed. Which to the average joe means its now 100% free. Personally i didnt see this coming nor did i see a need for it. Previously either you bought winrar or you downloaded the trial version.
The trial version strangely still grants you all features of the full version and also lasts forever even when the trial stage runs out. This useless move which was probably used to just stop the over usage of the trial does put the company on safe ground. Even though winrar has the higher ground over Windows default i personally would'nt recommend this to anyone because it does the same job as window Zip. wizard.

Advantages: WinRaR compacts 1/4 more information than Winzip. Also unzips alot faster.
Disadvantages: No need for the licensed version. Slower zip speed.

If i were you i would stick with WinZip. Don't waste your time downloading the licensed version.

The download works fine for me! I think they have realised that nobody used to pay anyway, just like with Winzip, it says your trial is up but you can continue using the software, and some programs with trials just use a counter on the ok button; why do they do this? Does anyone actually pay? I am talking about programs where paying to register does not get you additional features, but just gets rid of the notice and maybe a hel and support phone number.
