Haven't we all wanted to be a super heroe at some time. NCsoft, gave us that chance with there game "City Of Heroes". The original game allowed you to make your own heroe from millions of different combinations, not to mention hundreds of powers to choose from. With the great sucess of the first game "City Of Villians" carries on the story with a twist, you the player get to become the villian of your dreams.

When i first played the game it was interesting, the controls are very much like Guild Wars another NCsoft game which made it simple to use and interface with. The city it self is massive and takes around 1 hour of game time just to cross from one side to the other which we all know is alot for just walking around.

My heroe called Takeda Shingen, was a samurai like ninja robot, that could summon ninja to his every whim. You will play the game and wonder how to do things especially on how to upgrade your character. Granted i cannot Judge because i have only played the game for a few hours in total. But graphically its nothing special, the AI has one setting attack you when you get into a certain radius, however even though graphically the game is dark in nature the sheer amount of powers and ways you can customize your hero / villian is amazing.

A large downside to the game is that like World Of Warcraft the patches are almost unbearable, i log on and there is a 5 gigabyte patch waiting, for any player who runs on an average dsl, adsl or even T1 will find this reasonably slow. You wont get anywere with the game for a few hours, Luckily i was able to play it within 5 mins because of my fast connection. A major fault is the game does require a monthly fee of £11 a month.  Which does put alot of people off, i do believe if this game was free it would be a big hit with the gaming community as there is so much to do and so much to explore that you wont get bored.

I would only recommend City Of Villians if you love your MMORPG's and are willing to pay for them, otherwise stick to Guild Wars or your offline games.
