We will all have a friend like Dupree in our life time and any person around the age of 30 can hopefully relate to a guy like this. There friend who still hasn't grown up yet. I have one of these friends granted im only 18 but all the same.
The movie starring Owen Wilson, Matt Dillon, Kate Hudson is a generally good romantic comedy. Alot better than most although strange though it maybe i enjoyed it less than others. Comedy and laugh out loud wise the movie is good, but the jokes and gags sometimes seem the kind of funny when you only laugh when someone else does. Theres not enough personal connection with the audience that i think is good in movies.
Some moments in the movie are fantastic, especially some of the original things they implemented into the film that really will make you laugh out loud.
The general jist of the plot is a couple ( Matt Dillon, Kate Hudson ) take in a failed man in life ( Owen Wilson ). Through the story its all very predictable in what could happen. Aslong as you have a shread of movie love in you will be able to predict what happens, which will let things down to a certain standerd but still make the movie watchable.
Owen Wilson has a huge list of movies to his name. But Romantic Comedies don't seem to be his forte. Producing the movie himself I'm sure he will lose money over this movie. Although this is definetly one of his weaker movies and is no were near as good as his previous romantic " The Wedding Crashers" which was hilarious to watch with Vince Vaughn.
In my own personal opinion You, Me & Dupree is not worth seeing. I would only recommend it if you love Romantic Comedies.
