I finally got around to this game. I'm sure your all surprised that Halo 2 being the masterpiece it is that i haven't reviewed it yet, but i really haven't been playing it that much.

We all know of the Halo series, exellent graphics and physics engine. Brilliant gameplay and a damn good shoot'em'up. But what i like most about anygame is the Story.

IF you havent played the original Halo your not a true gamer and your dead inside. I'm sorry to say it. But like any sequel Halo 2 carries on the story of the original and makes the gameplay and story even better again! The introduction to Halo 2 is a good one for anyone who hasnt play it before, it teachs you the basics and lets you slowly into the game.

The general story of Halo & Halo 2 is a group of aliens bent on a religious crusade (The Covenant) want to destroy humans, but they also want to complete their journey and the "Halo's" that are located all around the galaxy are used as a sort of saviour to the covenant. However their are other species on the Halo's eg: The Flood (*note* They really freaked me out when i first played Halo) Which are a parasitic bunch of strange vomit coloured aleins which try to eat anything. Halo 2 focuses on both sides of the table, the Covenant and the Humans and there struggle against the Flood and eachother.

I can't say that much about the story because it really will ruin it for you. As the story is one of the best aspects of the game and really will suck you in.So i shall speak no more of it.

Now! The graphics are very nice in the game, no Half Life 2 but still an excellent game ( graphically) for the Xbox. Some minor graphical problems but nothing anyone should worry about. Generally between each mission and at the start of each mission you will get Very nice CGI movie clips that explain the story even more and add to the effect of the game. Game Physics are generally good, sometimes abit to over exagerated but generally realistic enough.

Gameplay is a masterpiece in its own right, a huge ammount of weapons each with their own specific power and effect. But what makes it very diferent would be the way in which the missions ar conducted. Eg: you switch between the characters the superhuman "Master Chief" and the covenant traitor " The Arbiter", both with very different ways to play.

The multiplayer aspect of the game is brilliant and really does exploit Xbox Live to its best. Very fun, fast and so fun to play with your friends.

Now i wouldn't like to say anything bad about Halo 2, but im going to have too. The game may have all these amazing aspects, graphics, gameplay but it gets really repetitive. Each mission is the same generally, you have a particuliar objective and you have to shoot, kill and run your way through every level which really doesn't add much of depth to it.

To conclude Halo 2 is a gaming masterpiece and i will have to give it 10 out of 10

I am willing to concede that Halo 2 is a good game. However, what I am unable to agree with is that Halo 2 is good enough to warrant a top rating.

Let me explain myself, in the time that Halo 2 has been released, I have been stuck with listening to people banging on about how brilliant Halo 2 is. Not necessarily a bad thing, except that there are better games out there. It introduced new features sure, but some of these were much better implemented in other games.

Let me give you a list of better games:

Call of Duty 2 - it also has an ammo limit, and t's mechanics are slightly less clunky...
Battlefield 2 - requires more than Holding down the fire button until everything blows up...
Battlefront II - Points system for online, Ranking matches and tournaments that don't cost you ridiculous amounts of money....

The thing that Halo does have going for it is the fact that its predecessor the godly Halo, which was infinitely better, was in the same series. I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you.

Oh, and one more thing, worst.voiceacting.EVAR

'We give them back their bomb'

WTF?
