Ohhhh the classic war genre, theres so many! So many i can't even count them.
It all began with Medal Of Honour games, which were horrific in my own view in gameplay, graphics and everything else you can expect in a game. Then came Call Of Duty, beautiful story lines taken from 3 aspects of an American, Britsh and Russian soldiers. For the time the graphics were very nice. The cinematic story lines were brilliant.
COD2, carried on this marvelous game last year. Activision relreased it and sold 4million copies on xbox360 alone. The game is brilliant, straight off my head. Tis magnificent! One of the greated war FPS out there.
The story again carries different view points from each Allied side (russia, USA, Brits). Each campaign set in very different locations and conditions. I couldn't agree more with other gaming magazines and sites when i seen the score they gave it.
Now on to buisness, the is near enough the same as the last game, so don't get excited when you play it. However the lads at Activision have added a whole new holster of weapons to your trusty soldiers. Sadly the weapons can also be located in Cods expansion pack "United Offensive". But the AI (Artificial Intelligence) has also been sent to school! Very smart AI ideed, man times have ai been out flanked or tricked into an area by a nazi soldier,(their smart you know!). But nothing can beat playing with real life people.
Graphically the game is out standing. Very nice scenary, guns, clothing, everything is top scale. So far in my 6 or so months of playing the game i have never found a graphical gltich. Which you will be happy to know im sure. There isn't that much to say aboutit to be honest, the graphics are just very very good.
Multiplayer in any Call "O" duty game is brilliant. But with the added weapons and graphics and ofcourse the many new maps this game is outstanding online. On Xbox Live or your home PC. The multiplayer is fast and very very fun. I have entered several Lan competitions on it and yes i won , but also had an extra atmosphere people swearing at you from across the room. You will also find this is a game highly played by online gamers and competitive gamers alike.
Levels & maps are always nice and big, again commenting on the graphics someimes visually stunning other times just a bit of alright for this day and age. You will generally get the run of entire maps. Most levels there will also be different ways i which you can achieve your goal and go about it, be it flanking, running straight through ur enemy or mass murder.
Sadly there will always be down sides to any game. COD2 is no exception, the gameplay and physics are very good. But it does get overly repetitive in some stages eg: Blow up this, or kill them. Which is basically the general jist of every mission. Except the repetitive nature of the game, everything else is good.
To finish, i have to say COD2 has taken a huge leap of faith for war games. It has centred aroud the feeling of war and certainly the chaos of war. Its the closest you will get to any war, without joining the army. I give COD2 10/10, just because its a near perfect war game .

Very good review, but do you not think that is the general point of a war game, to destroy things? Just giving something to you to think about.
I wonder what dlevel of difficulty you played it on, I presume the 360 controllers aren't that great for the mobility?
I played it on Veteran and never fell for the tricks, maybe that's something to do with me having played these games plenty and being used to their tactics, or just having a quick trigger finger?

Because ive played 20 or so war games there all completely diff, except the other COD

I'm not a pro, I simply take my time. That's one problem with some people. They don't.
But congrats on beating it on Vet with a 360 controller. I could never beat it with anything other than a mouse and keyboard.

it seems to me that you over rated some aspects of the game such as the physics which are virtually none existent due to the fact that most of the various happenings in the game are scripted (beautifully scripted granted) but scripted all the same. personally i don't think CoD2 deserved 10 out of 10 but a good apart from that it was a groovy review
