I just recently started playing this, in view of the sequel coming out....at some point. I'm just completely blown away by how well this stands up to more recent games, and any FPS in history really. I'm positive that this is the single best multiplayer experience you can have and is the deepest FPS, gameplay wise, ever.

Testiment to this is just how INSANELY pro some people are at this game. It boggles the mind. This is the only game i have found where those who are truly godlike can stand out each and every time they play. There are techniques, even relating to just simple things like movement, that can take weeks, months to master even. But the lack of ability to do these things does not stop you playing, it simply means the WTF OMG factor of seeing the amazing things people can do is increased substantionally.

I'd argue that this game is the most skill based game availible to play currently. I have recently quit world of warcraft (/bow ) My main problem with that game was that how good you were at it was not dependant, entirely, on skill. You could do a hell of a lot simply by having no life (will not mention names) Whereas here, you can jump straight in to the online community and make a name for yourself, simply because you were skillful, not because you spent 100hrs getting the materials for some item. If it wasnt for this game, i would never have quit world of warcraft.

As for the sequel, please all check out the trailers etc, it's going to be a mindblowing game. The unreal engine 3.0 has already shown what it can do with GoW, and that was with a severely dampened version of the engine.
Only problem is going to be running the damn thing, but now im not paying MMO subscriptions, i can save up for a couple of 8800's

Yeah its really amazing to see some pros who like run and jump off of a platform and kill like 4-5 people while flying in mid-air. That game is so fun I spent so many hours playing that game. Its UT series has definitley been one of my favorite series of games.
