Its been a while since ive done a review so, i think I'll get straight into this one.
Zelda....ahhhhhhh, Zelda. How i loved you. How we loved you. Zeldas first release was on the Nes as a simple 8-bit rpg. Great fun at the time. It basically spear headed the genre. No no! Created the genre of the RPG.
Zelda: The Ocarina Of time & Major's Mask where big steps up, especially for the Nintendo 64. Fantastic Games. Then Zelda: The WindWaker, another great title for the Gamecube.
Does this game live up the the massive hype? The answer is my respectable readers, that yes it does! This Wii launch titles has elevated the Wii so high that its been sold out in almost every store since christmas of 06.
Nintendo has taken the best bits from the previous Zelda combined them all and then added some fantastic new items, features and an even better story.
Now, on to the nitty gritty. Graphically, Twiilight Princess is very nice. Not up to spec on some other RPG's or even on its rival consoles (Xbox360 & PS3) But the graphics are, nice, colourful and respectable to the most part.
Despite some areas being slightly drab, the game doesnt upset. The shear ammount of different locations is remarkable, Different environments, changes in colour & atmosphere is quite outstanding.
Despite being reasonable graphics, sticking this badboy into a HDTV, will boost the look of the game almost completely & i promise you. You will notice the difference.
Next on my list of checked boxess is. Gameplay. Yes that ever so bad thing that plagues games. But Zelda doesnt let us down on the Wii. The Wii's inovative and next gen gameplay add's a whole new dimension to the play of the game. Be it Shooting your bow. Running around, Fighting with your enemies and even fishing! Overall the gameplay of the game is quite similiar to the original games, being it playing an instrument or opening up a dungeon chest. Or even the sounds (which are now abit outdated)
Like many of you may have, seen. Link turning into a wolf is big aspect of the gameplay. With Link in his wolf form, you can smell enemies or smell people even by picking up there sent. Or dig holes in the ground.
This change also add's a big change in gameplay as you may utilize the skills of both link and wolflink. Be it attacks or use of the environment.
We all know the previous games where big. But Twiilight Princess is the biggest game ever! With a grand total of 40-50 Hours of gameplay if you rush through it or 70-80 Hours if you take your time and do everything.
Like its predocessors, Twiilight Princess, has Zelda and yes it has Gannon. No change there then? But despite this bad point, the story overall is very good. Link a herder in a small town, must save the world from the evil twiilight. Despite not really being "Link" This actually takes place hundreds of years after Ocarina of time. Slowly as you adventure through the land of Hyrule you slowly collect his array of weapons and armour.
Despite the only small change in story. The game will keep you gripped on your seat to see what happens next in the story.
Ultimately Zelda: Twiilight Princes is an incredibly good game. Be it Gameplay, Story or its graphics. But it does have negetive features, such as the outdated graphics, despite being pretty they are old for this generation of games. Where gamers continually see the Epic engine in games. in my own opinion there is too much of the old and not enough of the new.
Despite these critisisms the game is solid. The Story and the brilliant gameplay will keep you hooked and you will have alot of fun with the Wii-Mote.
IGN Gave it: 9.5
GameSpy gave t: 5/5
1u[ gave it: 10/10
And im going to give it 9.7 out of 10 Now if you excuse me ladies and gentlemen i am going to go pick up my Wii mote and play Zelda
Rating: 2.00/5.00 [1]
