"Driving actions in these games often include competitive and reckless driving, speeding and crashing into other cars or pedestrians, or performing risky stunts with the vehicle," the researchers wrote. "In short, most actions in racing games imply a very high risk of having an accident or severe crash in a highly realistic virtual road traffic environment."
Let's do an informal survey...if you play driving games, do you notice any impact on your real-world driving skills?
i play plenty of driving games, when i'm on the road the games don't phase me whatsoever, i guess it's just all those kids who just get there licenses or are like just simply game freaks that are like "oh man it will be so cool to drift this turn at this traffic light in my mom's ford taurus wagon" and then boom, they hit 3 cars, 2 ppl, and a starbucks
Bah, No, it doesnt make me a reckless driver.. I grew up in the country where the cows have licence plates and drove on unmarked dirt roads for a long time, that's where i got the hang of drifting. Not some silly game. Heck, I didnt even own a PC at that age.
