Anyways of course you could make a 6800GT beat a X850XT PE if the X850 was left at stock. The 6800GT is the same as a 6800 Ultra except with slower clock speeds which can easily be kicked up beyond Ultra levels if you put a better cooler on it.
And I'm not sure why you don't care about the X-bit Labs benchmarks as they are realworld and represent what the stock performance on those cards would be.
Edit: I just realized, what does this have to do with G70 vs. R520?

Ya its true, PCGEEKs old system with the 6800GT was insanely fast. The thing was killing 6800Ultras and X850XT PE systems. And it was running idle at like 22 C or something like that right?
