I've heard they're a good brand, but... I'm not so sure. They seem to have pretty good prices on low-wattage power supplies, at the moment that's what I'm looking at. I'd like to purchase a silent, 20-pin power supply rated for 400 watts, and most certainly no less than 350 watts. Aesthetics are something to me, so I'd like one which is the usual silver, with nothing flashy or anything.
I'm looking at this Fortron, but I'm honestly not sure if they're a good brand. Suggestions? Criticisms? Two pennies?
Fortron is definitely a favorite of mine when it comes to power supplys. They are very hard to beat in terms of \"bang for your buck.\"
Also, I have the EXACT same PSU powering my Sempron rig. I am very happy with it. I don't hear it at all over my fans, it has plenty of power and plenty of connectors. It's a hard PSU to beat for its price.
The first thing I noticed when I got the PSU was that it was very heavy. Weight isn't a very good indication of quality, but the generic ones I've dealt with were always light. I wish I could give you voltage measurements, but I didn't have a digital multimeter at the time and I don't even have the computer right now.
