Personally the design, looks robust and a little childish. I dont actually like the design.

Nintendo's childish quirkiness of late is something that every GameCube owner must at sometime or another acknowledge. No matter how adamant you are against it, being the solid Nintendo fanboy that you are, it's an inevitable truth that can only be avoided through denial.
The GameCube itself was a doomsday device targeting with grim efficiency to eliminate the less-than-hardcore among Nintendo fans, and largely it was a success in this regard. Not too many softcore gamers were willing to sit through Pikmin and Wind Waker and Mario Sunshine; their insecurity was too much for such weak-minded peons to handle.

Imo, the gamecube will be remembered as the last great nintendo home console, judging by the revolution and its nutty "oooo i know lets have an entire console based around a novelty T.V remote which we will no doubt have to eventually replace with a proper controller when zelda becomes unplayable" attitude. It frustrates me somewhat that the innovations and genius of many GC games will simply not have been experienced by many gamers, who dismissed it as childish. Metroid Prime, Zelda, Resi 4 (though out on PS2, the GC is the definitive version imo), s.s.b.m, animal crossing, f-zero GX, i could go on. I feel very sad when i see the 23 cubic centimetres of shelf space given to the poor old GC in Game stores. As for being a fanboy, before this arguement starts, i have all the consoles availible and i believe that following a single company, and dismissing the others, is, simply, childish. Each platform has fantastic games, therefore leaving a console will inevitably lead to missing out on many fantastic games. Why would you want to do that for the sake of a silly fanboy attitude?
I agree that people shouldn't be so picky about their consoles. In my oppinion there shouldn't be different consoles, there should be one master console for each generation and the different companies can make their own games for this master console, then all you have to pay for is one console even if you want to play on all three types of games. I think that this will encourage more people to buy games from Nintendo and Microsoft even though they are Sony fanboys.
the fact that they can fight wonderful games that look just as good or better than their ps2 or xbox counterparts also, windwaker was a very nice game, atfirst i thought it was going to be childish due to the cell shading, but that's part of the charm to the game and it's no more childish than any of the other zelda games, infact with windwaker innovative counter-attack not seen in the other zeldas it made certain things doable without even getting hit! Of course you'd have to be very very very good not to get hit ever but it adds an interesting dynamic to the game.
Gamecube really wasn't the best console this gen, but having borrowed a PS2 and an Xbox I'd say it's the right one for me. It was also my first Nintendo home console which I thoroughly enjoyed.
And to the guy who said the Revolution (Wii) was going to crash and burn, I disagree. I think it'll be successful and probably more successful than the Gamecube ever was.
The Wii will be alot more sucessfull.
Simply put, Im guessing that Wii will be the system almost everyone will get. My reasons are simple.
1. Microsoft reccomends buying the Wii and Xbox360 instead of the PS3 to save money.
2. Sony gave the rights of Snake to Nintendo for Super Smash Bros. Brawl.(thus meaning Sony in some way supports the Wii)
It would seem obvious that both Sony and Microsoft are completely ignoring the Wii as competition and actually hoping that people buy the Wii over the opponents system. Since the Wii will be between $100-200, everyone whos cheap will get this, and everyone who buys one of the other systems will probably think 400-600 dollars is too much and will buy a Wii instead of the other. Thats my theory. (Yes some will get all 3, or get the 2 and not the Wii, but Im talking about in general)
