Well, for me the main focus is games.  A system could have the best graphics in the world, and yet have the crappiest games ever made, and it wouldn't be any fun.

But, a system could have games with awesome gameplay, but could have bad graphics.  They both kind of need each other, but I would rather play a game with bad graphics, than a game with crappy gameplay.

Neither of those to be honest, I like functionality, cross-compatability, good support, and another major factor, price and value for money. Also, the good sense of community and a reliable system, much like Xbox Live, and also possibly in your case, but not mine the brand name.

Um... Functionality IS gameplay...

So you'd like to play a game that looks crappy, and has bad graphics as long as it was cheap, on multi-platforms, and was online? =\.  That's basically what it sounds like from that...

I'm not even going to give that reply a response because it is a stupid statement...

Yeah, Game and Graphics,  Game or Graphics alone are not good reasons I would choose Game X over Game Y.

Functionality isn't necessarily Gameplay, as functionality, Gameplay can be storylines, Genre related aspects, and the community that goes with it.

Functionality is "How well (and reliably) the interactive controls and media perform on the target platform" (from Lisa Graham, The Principles of Interactive Design, 1999).

Gameplay is the way in which the gamer can interact with other elements in the game, not how well they can.
It is an Ambiguous term for the total effect of all active game elements. It Refers to the holistic game experience and the ability of the game to command the attention of the player, not functionality.

I dont's say I didnt want good grahics, its just that graphics dont make me choose one game from another, they are a good bonus, and ofcourse I don't want a gamewith bad grahics, and indeed, as Andurion says, it is a mixture of those.

Generally when I said functionality, cross-compatability, good support, and value for moiney, I was referring to the system as you were. Not the fact it is "cheap, on multi-platforms, and was online". And by a good community, I don't just mean "Online" I mean a wide fanbase, with internet forums, with PC Games, lots of good gameservers, good download, mods and maps, and good communities, A game can have Online functionality but very little as far as a community goes.

Gameplay is entirely what makes a game good.  Anyone who saysgraphics makes a game good needs to watch a movie.  It is saidthat better graphics makes a game more enjoyable but it doesn't affectplayability.  Take Oblivion for example.  That game was higlyover rated.  The gameplay was aweful because the creators focusedmore on the look and its physics than how its played.  Programmersneed to focus on performance and gameplay more than detail, I miss theclassics
