I haven't used my camera for quite some time.
A few days ago I turned it on and everything in the display was pink and distorted...........completely unusable.
The camera is a Canon A70.
After spending hours changing batteries, tweaking settings etc I gave up.
Then I did a lil internet searching and discovered that the problem is a very common one.
Apparently under certain conditions a connection for the CCD can break away, and it appears from posted screenies that the symptoms my camera display are of exactly that.
The CCD is apparently made my Sony.
Anyway, it means a lengthy and inconvenient mailing of the camera halfway across the country to have it repaired.
In the meantime I have just bought myself a lil replacement:
Fuji Finepix A500.
Seems a decent enough lil point and shooter, and cost a third of the original A70 price......tech progress and all.
Will keep whichever I prefer once I have both again and my kids can use the other
Anyone have experience with either of these cameras?
Yeah my sister has one, it's quite good for pictures but the only problem in my opinion is storage, it uses XD, which are more expensive than SD. The focusing on it also seems to be quite good with clear photos. I'm gonna get a cannon when I can afford it, they're brill cameras
