Following word that Nintendo was going to be blockingImagination is the Only Escape, the daring Holocaust game currently in development by Luc Bernard, publisher Alten8 has made some clarifications contrary to yesterday'sreports. The publisher has stated that the game has not been blocked byNintendo and is still "in its early stages."
Speaking to Eurogamer,a spokesperson for Alten8 relayed the project's current status. "Thestatus of this game is currently [in] concept / pre-production at thispoint in time," said the spokesperson. "[Imagination is the OnlyEscape] is only in its early stages. No one has blocked it, and it hasno definitive time scale for release." As for Bernard's practices workin general, the spokesperson had this to say:
Quote:
Luc [Bernard] is doing most of the artwork for all hisgame creations and we have not even discussed [IITOE] with Nintendo asof yet - Luc made various blog releases about the game concept andtheme that have been picked up by various writers and used extensively, but are based on a few early artwork screens. In general we try toallow anyone we work with to use their creative talents and see noreasons why new type and styles of games and film content should not betried.
Bernard himself has expressed his own displeasure with the situation on one of his blogs."The press don't understand anything," he writes. "They have not seenit or played it yet, so well I need to let them time to see it beforeanything can be discussed. God this is seriously getting out ofcontrol." Imagination "has better taste than Call Of Duty and Medal Of Honor, this is the first educational game set during that time."
