I have made this topic due to the fact that there a lot of bad hosts out there and there are some good ones.  In this topic you can post your experiences with various hosting companies.  This will help people finding the right host for them.

When posting experiences with hosting companies please follow these simple rules.
  • Provide a link
  • Provide information as to how long you have been using the host.
  • Provide a short summary about your experience with them and whether you recommend them or not.
  • If you own the hosting company do not post about it.
Here are some other useful things that will help in your decision.KoolDrew | CITF Administration

I am currently on Powweb.
http://www.powweb.com

http://www.gandmcomputers.com
http://games.gandmcomputers.com

I've been with them for only about 2 months now... But they seem good.

Have not had any down time, no issues with anything yet... but i have not talked to a sevice rep.

5000MB storage with 300GB transfer a month...  Not bad for $7 dollars a month.

Very fast, tons of features.

Sitesled
http://www.sitesled.com

I was with them (and still kind of am) for about a year.

100MB of storage, FTP, 1GB daily and a banner trading program.  Awesome stuff for free.

This host hosts the domain for this forum. I have the 9.99$/month which is the Business Plan. (we bought it for my father's business website, but there was one leftover so I used it for the domain here.

The 9.99$/month comes with 2GB of storage, 50GB/month transfer, 50 subdomains, 3 free domains, 1MySQL database, 5 FTP accounts, 500 e-mail addresses, etc.

Greg's would have been an even better deal if they could have given all that, along with 3 domains, instead of just one. ;)

WOW Predator good deal, I pay, TOTAL DUE: 29.99 (British pounds) 29.99 GBP = 55.2833 USD a month for a 1 meg connection and 1 gig web-ftp space, no limit up or down uncapped, have said this before we get robbed.
Funny thing is my ISP is less then a mile from were I live, I wonder if they would let me lay a line direct to there servers lol

EDIT
Sorry missed the part were I should say good or bad things about them lol
One of the best in the UK, and would say if you needed them, then they have the best Phone service and online Support going, well done Zen.

That is your ISP-provided service. Comcast has one too, I just don't bother to use it.

My Comcast is a 6MB connection.

Man, British prices are high. ;)

Ye I know my wallet feels it  :(

EDIT
Sorry again yes this is my ISP provider, one of the best too, we can?t get faster speeds cause of the phone lines, these have been up there on the poles like for 50 years and BT our UK phone company who own all or most of it are going slowly improving it, only NTL over here can do things cause they are on fibre optics, but not everybody can use them, they are cable and if its not been laid underground past your house then forget it lol

Well, if I wanted fast pings I'd go with BT.. they have some of the best routing and hardware.
At the moment I'm with Tiscali.. it's OK.. but I kinda like owe loads of money to them. and there call centres suck and are kinda indian.
Hopefully by next year I'll be on an 8mb connection with BT or something.. that would be awesome :D

Anyways, Tiscali comes with about 50mb of webspace and about 50mb of bandwidth per day (this may of changed now though) unless of course you have a business account.

http://100webspace.com/

I wouldn't recommend their paid webhosting but they offer a free account with 100MB space, 3GB bandwidth, PHP, and MySQL (there is a 5MB limit on it though).  There is also an ad at the top of each page but I've almost never noticed down time from them and their servers seem pretty fast.

Their support is very responsive, especially for a free host.  When I originally made my account I couldn't get FTP access.  I submitted a support ticket via the control panel and a few hours later the problem was solved.

So if you can stand the ad and don't need a big MySQL database  100WebSpace's free plan is pretty good.  I myself stopped using it after the ads were introduced but I still use my account for testing things from time to time and everything else still seems good.

I'll also vouch for SiteSled like Greg.

http://www.sitesled.com

I use it as my FTP system, for uploading pics, etc. 100MB space, NO Ads, NO Pop ups, NO spyware, 30GB/month transfer, free tech support, etc.

I would not reccomend Powweb for someone with a business.  They dont have that great of uptime.

However:
You can get additional domains at $20 apeice for serviced (mail and other such services) and like $3 for pointer domains (no mail services).

Unlimited sub-domains.  Unlimited FTPs.  5GB space, 300GB a month!  Plus, 5 MySQL's.  Not sure on e-mails.

Checkout my blog ;) http://blog.gandmcomputers.com

I've used www.resellerzoom.com for about a year.

Fast storage, Cpanel access, with Fantastico.

Fantastico is great for installing phpbb or php nuke or nuke etc. The list goes on and on. That's not something that you find with powweb(as far as I can tell). Unlimited mysql DBs, along with 50 domains. Most everything else is unlimited. You also have the ability to divide up and resell your space- all with the wonderful Cpanel. You have complete control over everything!

2000mbs of space and 30gbs of bandwidth-Bandwidth is all you would ever need.

At 4.95, it's a great price.
