Though the customizing joy of creating your own insignias and emblems for games like Mario Kart DS and Animal Crossing: Wild World may have fallen somewhat off the map with time, and there's certainly no lack of iconic resources and templates spread throughout the net, the fresh and intricate custom designs from dsicons.com might bring about a little change.

Set up by the vector specialists of iconbuffet.com, their selection is accompanied by a very handy three step guide at layering and completing the emblem, and come in a wide variety of searchable and tagged categories that steer very clear of the usual cribbed pixel art and ubiquitous anatomical references. For a bargain price, they'll even sell you a collection of 100 of their own creations, or miniaturize any work of your own -- a pittance for an entirely unique look to sport on your favorite kart or flag.

Alternitavely, make some stuff on your DS (if you have one) in the Mario Kart editor, on mine its Options > Edit > Emblem > Paintand thats a really cool editor to use with your stylus
