With Nintendo having attached itself to the Japanese airline market with their offer of a DS rental and selection of games for travellers on international JAL flights, Sony has taken the next logical ground-based step.
Famitsu is reporting that riders of Japan's iconic Shinkansen bullet-train system will have the opportunity for a similar free loan of a PSP system for the duration of their ride as part of a new promotion set to end in March 2007.
While there's no word on which software will be available with the kits, Nintendo's marketing was enhanced by selection of Touch Generations titles -- specially marketed toward the older business-class travellers the promotion was geared towards. Whether Shinkansen riders are able to attach themselves to LocoRoco in the same way is anyone's guess.
