Any ideas? The speech is supposed to be between five and seven minutes. I am supposed to support one side, but also give information on the other side. If you think of a good topic for me to do and you know any sites with good information on it, please post.
Well, I went to university a few weeks ago and learnt about speach presentation (it was actually a bioscience course, but I had to do a presentation to various managers of international supermarket chains to persuade them to buy the applejuice I spent 3 days perfecting.)
Anyways, I can't remember most of it, but things that I do remember are things like-
Take your time when talking, if you forget something try and remember it.. most importantly don't panic.
Use body language. Speach only counts for something like 20% of presentation
Talk using different tones. Using the same tone will make it sound very dull, and noone will be interested or focused.
Use slides to help if you can, and make them interesting. Also explain them in FULL detail.
Never use the words \"er..\" or \"stuff\" (I was really bad at this)
Talk clearly.. theres nothing worse than not being able to hear the speaker.
If you really wanna be good a speach presentation/presentation.. take a university course or something :P
Stick to those and you should be ok.. it worked for me infront of hundreds of people.. and 3 days before the course I proberbly couldnt even give a speach to 5 people :P
