I recently found a program called PiFast, and I myself am always trying to find new ways to improve my system (modding, overclocking etc..)

A quote from the PiFast website

Quote:
Pifast is a small program that computes Pi to a set amount of decimal places
and also display's how long it takes. Since it tells you how long it takes this
then gives us a basis for charting the results giving a performance indicator
for new and old technology at a glace.

All you need to do is download the file from the site (http://pifast.hexus.net/hexus_pifast.zip) and unzip, then run the .bat file.

After the 7 steps, you will get 4 times, then a dotted line across the screen.

What I would like to know is your FINAL computation time  :)and your cpu model and speed (And preferably your fsb speed, and multiplier
If you do not know these, try using a program like CPU-Z
You can also use the html report option to export the data.. :P

My CPU : CeleronD (Prescott) (unclocked) : 2.8ghz, (Extensions : MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3)
FSB : 533MHz
Multiplier : 21
L1 Cache Size : 16 KB
L2 Advanced Transfer Cache : 256 KB
Ram : 200mhz

And for my test, Total computation time : 99.56 seconds (~ 0.03 hours)

The time will hopefully decrease when I overclock my fsb and clock speed, and add better cooling devices. :D

1st overclock : 2.84ghz, 90.56 seconds (~ 0.03 hours)

2nd Overclock:  3.0ghz, 86.48 seconds(~ 0.02 hours)

Awaiting other overclock results, please hold on.

So, if you would care to post your timings and specs? :P

As long as you have a PC, there is nothing better. Nothing like a system to beat up DOOM 3 & Half Life 2 LOL

Ya, PCGEEK has much faster RAM, and it is clocked at 230 some mhz?... anyway, his mem is running faster than mine (by a lot) and his CPU is also running faster than mine.
