No it's not. many cos and banks still use it.
Mmm it's not difficult but it takes a longer code to do the same then in other languages. At least that's what I learned from it (that i nightmares from the cobol trol lol don't ask). So are you learning it for fun or because of school? I'm not good at it and it's been a long time but i could try to help you out.. Btw most ppl don't use it anymore, some companies still do tho..
