I all the sudden realised you people from the UK haven't even spoken about the ashes. And they started 5 days ago. So I though it only appropriate (me being an aussie and australia winning the first test today) that I should make the topic about the Ashes a sticky for the duration of the Ashes test series. And now for the obligatory "Aussies won" post.

But Oz captain Ricky Ponting, named Man of the Match, insists the series is far from over.

He said: “We had our noses in front for most of the game and it has been a really pleasing start for us.

“But saying that, it was exactly the same in the last Ashes series. We won the first Test there easily and things went wrong from thereon.

“We’ve just got to look at the areas where we played well in this game and carry them on in Adelaide.”
